STU STU STUDIO

Defunct Santa, 2025, Katie Goodwin, Oil on board. 30×24cm

Sooooo a lot has happened in the past few months and I’ve been very quiet here.

First of all, I’m very excited to announce that I have finally, after 5 and half years of not having a dedicated workspace, moved back into The Bomb Factory studios in Archway, North London. Affordable art studios are a rare rare find, so this studio, far from domestic distractions, is an absolute haven.

To celebrate this milestone, I will be having a scenelet (a little scene :) ) and a Studio Sale this Saturday 6th December 12-3pm. This is an in person only sale as I’m having a little clear out of old works and experiments at a range of prices. I’ll be selling some alternative Christmas cards too and it will be a chance to see some of my new work so come along if you can. There will be mulled wine and snacks.  Artists Sarah Lederman and Noa Weintraub will have their studios open too.

The Friendly Gnomad is still available for sale here from Artsy. However, the original Defunct Santa already has a new home above, however, it is available as an alternative Christmas card!

And finally, I was commissioned by St Giles Cripplegate, City of London in the heart of the Barbican, to make a dove animation to be projected in their medieval church window which can be seen after dark every day until Christmas. Hopefully it will be an annual event as it’s proved popular with the locals who can see it from their flats.

Dove, 2025, Katie Goodwin, 3 minute animation. Commissioned by St Giles Cripplegate, Funded by Barbican Estate.
